Kenya’s history
Historical moments, places and stories that shaped the nation, approached with respect for Kenya’s diverse heritage.

A proposed public projection-mapping and interactive digital experience celebrating Kenya’s history, its people and its future — with the Kenya National Archives as the canvas.
WATCH THE CONCEPT ↓BECOME A PARTNERKameleon is developing a concept for a large-scale projection mapping experience on the Kenya National Archives in Nairobi CBD. The proposed visual story travels from Kenya’s history and independence through its development and achievements to the people and ideas shaping its future.
Concept visualisation: an artistic proposal illustrating how the building could be transformed. The event, venue permissions and partnerships are subject to confirmation.
Historical moments, places and stories that shaped the nation, approached with respect for Kenya’s diverse heritage.
The energy of Nairobi, its culture, creativity, communities, innovation and achievements today.
A creative vision of a connected, ambitious and innovative Kenya, shaped by its people and next generation.
Before the show, we propose creating an interactive Unreal Engine studio in a Nairobi shopping mall or public venue. Visitors would be invited to step into a digital environment inspired by Kenya and record a short video of themselves.
No special experience is required. Participants could create a personal digital moment and, subject to consent and production requirements, have the opportunity to be included in the event’s final visual sequence.
The proposed finale brings the project’s central idea to life: members of the public who take part in the digital studio may appear in the closing sequence projected onto the Archives. Participation would be voluntary and governed by clear image-use consent, safeguarding and privacy procedures.
Kenya’s history is preserved in the Archives. Its future is created by its people.
The ambition is to create a free public experience for people from different backgrounds and generations. The proposed project connects culture, public participation and creative technology in a shared celebration of Kenya.
All event details, access arrangements and permissions will be confirmed with the relevant authorities and partners.
